“People have phenomenal capacity.” was penned precisely on 5 February, 2005 06:55 PM, which happened to be a Saturday. but you know what? dullneon.com's random notes has now moved to a new location.
In the last two decades, Man has managed to eradicate smallpox, figured out how to clone sheep, and now stands on the verge taming the atom. Directed and undirected research all over the developed world has brought us quantum leaps in science and technology. An unmanned probe was recently sent 750 million kilometres into space in search of life, undoubtedly of great interest and value to humankind in ways that we cannot yet imagine. As we advance further and soar higher as a civilization, we are still unable to meet and master the challenge of stopping a disease that kills more and more people every year: despite much effort, there is still no cure for cancer. Until our most able scientists figure a way to stop it, we’ll just have to summon every inch of defiance, every sinew of strength to fight this disease when it knocks too early on doors too close to home.
