The cold fusion of Adobe & Macromedia.

To the casual reader, Adobe’s purchase of Macromedia might lead to Adobe’s software becoming almost ubiquitous in design and publishing. But in a flash, Adobe has also managed to capture control of arguably the most popular animation software on the web. Before the deal does go live, analysts may already be pondering… how would Macromedia contribute to the already cash-rich Adobe bottom-line? Would Macromedia still have a free hand in running its operations? Might Adobe attempt to streamline costs & unify product offerings by dropping some elements from its range?

Maybe no one can tell us what the after effects will be just yet.

Maybe this isn’t as funny as I thought it’d be.
