Alter ego.
Everybody’s favourite foul-mouthed Brit blogger, John Oxton, has decided to stop posting personal stuff on his site, partly because he’s thinking about “the potential clients who may be judging” him on what he writes about, which unfortunately is the way the world seems to work. It reminded me about Jeffrey Zeldman’s Apartness, his ‘alter-ego’ site where his “subject matter no longer needs to reinforce Zeldman brand perceptions”.
Maybe, we have the beginnings of a book called “Blog Branding Guidelines” somewhere in there.

this was published on 27 June in the year 2005, which was a Monday. anyway, all this is old and archived. everything has been now been moved, so head on down to the revamped almost daily random notes (unless of course you like this old stuff too much to part with it).
