When food sites go bad.

Lunch At Noon is a good example of a useful website gone bad by the use of Flash — there is no way to link to the recipe for, say, Small Brie Open Sandwiches because, short of the homepage, any other page that catches your fancy just cannot be bookmarked. It’s a terrible waste because they’ve got some really nice looking recipes and good photography in there once you get past the floating cutlery navigation (which is cute the first few times but becomes downright annoying when you want to hunt down something in particular). Let’s not even get started on the subject of searching through their recipes…

But while on the topic of recipes, Heidi Swanson, author of 101 cookbooks (which is definitely bookmark friendly), has a quite highly rated vegetarian cook book with many, many nice photographs.
