Art on show.

Screen grab of iTunes playing a track from LCD SoundsystemAfter discovering sometime ago iTunes’s ability to store and display album art while it plays music, I went absolutely crazy finding and saving album art images from Amazon.com. To help automate the process, Fetch Art is an excellent utility to have.

On some installations, it produces some minor Applescript errors (which can be found and fixed easily), but other than that, it works reasonably well. And the author is trying to release a new version sometime soon.

And to display the album art (and track details) in harmony with the currently playing song, Growl does the job quite nicely. It seems GrowlTunes, of the excellent Growl framework, also downloads art from Amazon.com, but I never got round to trying it.
