“Firefox as the basis for an operating system?” was penned precisely on 8 July, 2006 01:08 AM, which happened to be a Saturday. but you know what? dullneon.com's random notes has now moved to a new location.
Found on the web…
What I would like to see as the roadmap is not adding more features to Firefox, because it’s a good browser, but if you had a development cycle for a Firefox OS, and you had 10 percent of the computers in the world going out with Fire OS on it, then we would see some improvements in this corporation in Redmond.
Don’t we have enough free operating systems out there already which are feebly trying to displace Microsoft on the desktop? Darwin is pathetic on the x86 platform (at this point in time), so no chance of a free OS X stylee free OS on the PC anytime soon. Maybe someone should throw their weight (and resources and money) on something like the very interesting sounding ReactOS project.
this was published on 8 July in the year 2006, which was a Saturday. anyway, all this is old and archived. everything has been now been moved, so head on down to the revamped almost daily random notes (unless of course you like this old stuff too much to part with it).
