Cover art of Underworld's King of Snake single from 1999

Coming off Underworld’s 1999 Beaucoup Fish album, King of Snake is such a strong track that no remix could ever make it bad. The single spawned some sparkling remixes (and a quirky video), the pick of which for me is the Barking Mix.

I actually bought the boxed set a couple of years ago, which contains the King of Snake, Push Upstairs and Jumbo singles (Jedis Sugar Hit mix is pure genius). It’s a great collection, though not complete, as there are some weird omissions like Ashley Beedle’s Save Our Discos Re-Edit. All said, it all still sounds refreshingly wicked ten years on and miles better than some of Underworld’s recent output.

464 first-team appearances, 35 goals and a whole clutch of medals, from the FA Cup to the Champions League. I just wished Liverpool’s finest Finn, Sami Hyypiä, could have left Liverpool with the league title as well, but it was not meant to be.

Goodbye and good luck!

Transforming USB Flash Memory (2 GB) - Ravage

It’s a pathetic 2GB capacity drive but I am completely willing to overlook it for that transforming ability!

As a font, 3x3 has some issues; as an idea, it is brilliantSwedish futurist, Anders de Flon, designed this typeface all within a 9 pixel area. Obviously, it has some issues if you were going to use it on a day to day basis (a rapid failure of your ability to see might become a creeping problem) but it’s one of those things that makes you wonder why you didn’t think of first. (Well, I am wondering why I didn’t think of it first anyway.)

By the way, if any of you knows Mr De Flon well, I implore you to please update his badly written Wikipedia entry — it currently reads like a horrible English to Chinese to English translation.

Real life is a bitch when it comes to ambition, eh? - ‘You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.’

The question is, how much time and energy do I want to spend chasing these guys… My sense is that most of them live in basements floored with carpeting remnants, living on Funions and discount beer.

Fantastic trailer for Moon, a movie that seems to have the makings of a great science fiction flick. Rather ironically, the director happens to be the son of Ziggy Stardust.
