After the extremely successful Writer’s Block, Swedish trio Peter Bjorn and John‘s subsequent album Living Thing from 2009 was darkly disappointing. I took quite a leap with Gimme Some (the quirky album art helped, of course!) and I have to tell you, this Second Chance was not a let down at all. The relentless (Don’t Let Them) Cool Off has been on repeat on my player for quite a number of days already. It’s a jarringly melodious album, perhaps an indication of the band giving the finger to constant comparisons to that famous whistling song of theirs.
