I’ve been a little late to catch on to this, but Remo Camerota's Drainspotting project is absolutely brilliant. Japan has a quasi-official policy of beautifying their manhole covers to reflect unique cultural aspects of a city. Drainspotting is a colourful photographic journal of one man’s quest to document them all. It’s even available as a book now.
While her daughter Mila has her naps, Adele Enersen imagines and makes up what her baby could be dreaming of. A beautiful baby, a good idea and adorably crafted by a very imaginative mother.
Mark Evans etches and scrapes away at animal leather for days and weeks to create massive pieces of photo-realistic art, with nothing more than knives. Absolutely brilliant stuff.
Tim Burton, master of the dark and the quirky, has an exhibit of his personal drawings, paintings and stop motion video at MOMA. Too bad the exhibit is in New York and not in Newton.
