When I was on holiday in Sentosa, I wanted to:

1. Try out the Night Luge.
2. Read Jonathan Franzen’s Freedom which The Wife highly recommended.
3. Check out the Animal & Bird Encounters (which is one of the incredibly rare free things on Sentosa).
4. Walk around Resorts World to see if the insides were as ugly as the outside.
5. Visit Fort Siloso, which I hadn’t gone to since my secondary school days in the 90s.

In the end, we mostly hung out at the beach and in the awesome swimming pools of Capella, which made The Daughter super happy. Which made us super happy. Which made it a super holiday.

Synthetic happiness FTW! As for the list of things I wanted to do, I will have to start (2) someday soon.

PICAS (Picture Archives Singapore) is a wonderful historical photographic repository. It could grow into something exciting like the U.S Library of Congress collection, but the PICAS site looks like it hasn’t seen too much innovation or improvement for some years now.

3. If everything that moves were caused to move by something else, there would be an infinite chain of causes. This can’t happen.
4. Thus, there must have been something that caused the first movement.
5. From 3, this first cause cannot itself have been moved.
6. From 4, there must be an unmoved mover.
