What a fantastic CG video! You have to watch it even if you’re not an F1 fan. (I wonder whether it was done by the same people who did the Red Bull F1 Singapore video.)

An absolutely stunning piece of film-making for this Toshiba commercial by Grey London. Honestly, I don’t know how the heck this advert sells Toshiba’s Upscaling technology in particular, but the jaw-dropping technique is just fantastic. You can’t really go wrong with a Crystal Castles track for the music either.

The scale of the production is massive: 200 Toshiba camcorders, 2.5 million individually named frames and 20 terabytes of video.

Vote For Hope, by MC Yogi.

Obama ‘08 - Vote For Hope is a very slickly produced video from MC Yogi which shows his support for (duh!) Barack Obama. This is obviously a great way to plug his new album that was recently released, but even then, this is a very nice piece of self-expression.

Maybe someone at YouTube reads xkcd.

So a couple days (or was it weeks) ago, I saw this comic from the ever excellent xkcd and thought it was pretty funny. Today, I find out that YouTube really implemented it!

The audio playback is pretty good (though it unsurprisingly muddles through lorem ipsum text). One can only hope users guilty of idiot comments will suffer unspeakable blows to their self-esteem from this new feature.

If you’re a fan of Family Guy, you’ll bloody love the Seth McFarlane’s YouTube channel Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy. Despite the big name commercial sponsor (yeah, I am suspicious and cynical like that), the Cavalcade seems a promising and funny web series.
